Feb 23 - Army Day
Feb 27 - Pancakes Day
On the 23rd, the girls cooked plenty of dishes for the guys. It was such a feast. Yummy! On the 27th, pple eat pancakes.. and there was this festival at city centre. Pple dressed up freakishly.. apparently to scare winter away. almost like halloween. hee!

Day 16 - 17th Feb - Blini

so i've not blogged for exactly a month. everything dated a month back is pretty much clean forgotten. only thing i remember is reminded by pictures. so.. .. the 17th.. .. i tried frying beehoon. usually, the vermicelli has to soaked and soften before frying.. i did just that.. just that the beehoon is not beehoon and it became mashed instead. in the end.. we used the left over to fry our beehoon. we didn't wanna waste that mashed beehoon.. and aikhui said that if we beat it, it's just gonna be like flour mixture.. so in the end.. i took his words literally and add milk and eggs and we made blini with that. not bad. (:

Day 15 - 16th Feb - Lithuanian Independence Day

I woke up this morning first to see falling snow from the sky. I decided to take some pictures, but the falling snow doesn't show through the picture. Too fine I guess. To be frank, I am getting sick of snow. Exspecially when I have to trudge through the snow in my heavy boots all the way from the bus stop to dorm or vice versa. I took this picture mainly because I've not taken any picture of falling snow and didn't want to be left without any memo. Guess I won't be disappointed even if i didn't take this picture since I was told later that this period of time is the time when snow is expected quite a lot.

Later in the evening, Johanna, Hana, Chae Young, Aik Hui and I went to their National Day Concert at Old Town. A few others came along with us, but they lost us on the way getting there.
The live choir was awesome. I caught some videos in which one of the clips depict the soviet times. Sadly, it won't uplaod. Real awesome singing though.

the concert

It was really cold though. Although there were a few fire places put up around the concert area, it was definitely still freezing cold. (:
It felt real comfy though when we went to one of the 4 fire places to warm up. (: mmmmmmm. (: Warmth.

Day 14 - 15th Feb - Night

Okay. I'm really scared now. One of us, an Italian, got shot last night.
It was for no apparent reason apparently since the guy didn't get robbed. It seemed more like an act of hatred - against race or something, anything but money.
He was shot in the waist and in the head. Thank god he is still alive. The bullet hit his head and somehow bounced off as I was told. Maybe it scrapped his head? I'm not sure.
He was on his way back to his hotel after alighting the bus, alone, at half past 11pm when the incident occurred.
I'm really shocked, stunned, and super scared. s:

Day 14 - 15th Feb - Just the Morning

I woke up this morning to find thick layers of snow slated onto the trees outside my window. gorgeous!
anyhow, it reminded me how i had missed out on writing about seeing my first snow.
as in seeing snow falling from heavens.
that happened last wednesday after having to wait for hours for a class that did not start.
we were in maxima shopping for groceries and when we came out it was snowing.
it was real magical. i felt enchanted or something of sort. hehe. (:
however, after a couple of encounters, i realised that it is more of a hazard than anything else. hee.
well, it's still nice to see snow from the inside, but no way do i enjoy going out when you have cold wind accompanied with freezing snow slapping right into your naked face. brrrrrrrr!

No plans for today. Krakow trip got rainchecked to 2 weeks later since Dominika can't meet us this weekend. No worries since we managed to change the tickets without having to pay any charges. (: Plus, it's important that Dominika is present when we're in Krakow since she can be our guide and provide us with free (or if needed, cheap) accomodation. (:
Can't wait till 2 weeks later.
Till then, I think I will be studying for the rest of the day. Just chilling out in my room and hoping that NOONE will come try to ask me out to play. Hide Hide! Lock my room up and HIDE!! *grin*

Day 13 - 7 Days of Reflection

after a week of blogging, it gets stale but anything else. argh! it's quite a bugger hassle actually. well, that lazy bone in me must have gotten contagious and laziness simply spreaded throughout. Kennnt eevennnn moooovvvvv a finngerrrr. still, i think i should make it a point to blog as much as time allows. lastly, this is dedicated to riya of the kings your majesty. thanks so much for being an active audience. hehe!

Day 7 - 8th Feb - Trakai
Gosh. search search my brain. this was 7 days ago. oh my gosh! where should i start?
well, basically, i went to Trakai that day. It's liek another city or something, and it seems mandatory for tourists to visit this castle in Trakai. hm..

Plenty of new experiences that day.
First train (real train) ride,
First time seeing people fish on ice,
First time in a CASTLE,
First time standing on a frozen lake,
First time a lot of things.

the castle is gorgeous and the photos shall prove just so (or not).

afte the castle visit, we went for lunch. i ordered strawberry milkshake and chicken kiev. the interval between the time when the drink was served and that of the main course was appallingly long. first i played around with my camera.. then i amused got at how aikhui's soup in breadbowl was served without the soup! initially, everyone was just stunned.. and wondered if the dish was to be served with soup. then several minutes past and it finally occurred to the waitress that the soup was served without soup. hehe. stupid.
i then got impatient and ordered chicken broth.. then more pictures.. and my chicken kiev finally came. fries were AWESOMELY delicious. nyam nyam. (:

pple fishing on ice.

Day 10 - 11th Feb - Classes Commence
This is one of the many sucky days. argh!
First class was Social Psych class. only 4 people turned up.
It is ridiculous how the lecturer gave us readings by giving the 4 of us one book in which we were to decide who gets to read it when. I wanted to zap that relevant chapter, but the printing services in school really sucks. bugger!! booger!!
To make matters worse, i went to the following class. after having to wait for an hour (cause social psych was to end at 12pm but it ended at 11:30am, one and a half hour before my evolutionary psych class), only to wait for another 40 minutes or so for nothing since i was the only one there and no one turned up! i was positively sure that i was at the right place at the right time. later i learnt that it wasnot unusual for teachers to just miss lectures with students just waiting like idiots outside the classroom. apparently, it also seems like i'm the only one taking this course. hmmmm.. might get cancelled. bugger again! bigger booger!!
anyhow, moo moo camwhored a bit while i waiting along the corridor outside the classroom.

view from the window at the end of the corridor.

moo moo!

Day 11 - 12th Feb - Chicken Rice
i cooked chicken rice twice today because i failed the first time with soggy and salty rice. well, still edible, just not fantastic. i got burnt and got a nasty blister. OUCH!!
during the evening, i tried again and chicken rice was yummy!! (: (:

Day 12 - 13th Feb - Gaping Wound
We had a curry feast this evening. We feasted on chicken curry with Saykal's pancakes. he! yummy.
Anyhow, doing too much dish washing turns the skin soggy and soft and my blister burst. it is super horrible. ): it hurts and it looks horribly disgusting. ewwwwww.
we played card and boardgames after dinner till about 2 am.
the night didn't end as we continued our little gathering by watching a thriller. it was dumb for two reasons.
1.) plot sucks - boy turned cuckoo crazy trying to kill the two characters when one of the character accidentally kills the boy's pet dog when attempting to recover the keys to his vehicle which was stolen by the delinquent boy.
2.) it's an american film, but it was dubbed in russian so there pretty much also explains why plot sucks so much to me. it really already sucks.. and with limited understanding, it makes it seems even dumber. he!!
went to bed at close to 4am as azamat and aikhui continued wathing till like 5 plus in the morning.

Day 13 - Feb 14th - Underworld: Rise of the Lycans
I've been waiting for this for forever! Finally i got to watch Underworld!! (:
yay!!
I wanted to watch the movie on the day i depart from Singapore, but i didn't get to since i was real tied down with packing and getting ready to fly off and stuff, and besides, i hadn't finish reading the book then.
The movie was great, just that everything went by at such an amazingly fast pace. It was close to the book, every much, but i enjoyed reading every single detail written in the book slowly with more pace and pleasure of my own.
Still, i think the movie was fantastic. I really like the choice of actor for the role of sonja. Selene really resembles Lady Sonja. Besides, Rhona Mitra makes a really sexy vampire. (: Sadly, since this is a prequel to to Underworld and Underworld: Evolution, we all know that Sonja had died and so Sonja dies in the prequel. boohoo. ): tragic ending. vicious vampire viktor!
Sad that Sonja died, but superb ending when they ended just as the book did. (:
with the start of Underworld!! *hearts* Selene. *hearts* Kate Beckinsale.
God. that is the most kickass scene in the whole of Underworld series.
I love that scene with Selene hunched and kneeled down at the edge of the balcony with rainy running down the body and dripping from her fingers. Woots! then she lands on the ground and wallks away in one smooth motion like an agile cat.
haha. this entry surely seems close to home. I love my Underworld to bits and pieces. (: (:
Love love love vampired and love Selene the most.

Anw, after the movie, we joined Saykal and Ijan (can't spell her name. opps) for dinner. Went window shopping a little then went ice skating with Azamat and many others. (:
We missed the last bus and shared a taxi home.

Then i read riya's wall post on my facebook and decided that yeah.. it's about time i blogged again.
Since i was in pain dealing with that gaping hole in my finger, i decided that i should take a picture of it. After last night's thriller and today's movie, gore seems to be the thing of the moment. wooooooooooooooooooo ouch!!

Lady Sonja. ♥

painful. no doubt.

Day 6 - Skuchno Saturday

A quick one since nothing much went on today.

Weekend = no cleaner = toal mess in the dorm.

Today Aik Hui and i went to the laundry.
Before that, i took a picture of pudding, my travel dog, moo moo, the cow in the pink, and carebear, the purple bear with a flower in the centre of its tummy which i don't remember the name, with the view right outside my window as the background.
Then we went to the super market AGAIN. we've been going everyday. Apparently, we still don't have an idea how much and what to stock up just nicely.
We bought drinks and chips as well today. Somehow, all unplanned an Asian party broke out as Saykal and Azamat prepared some dish called eeks i forgot again. Basically, it just looks like croissant with both ends meeting and with carrot, patoto and some some stuff as its fillings. very vkushno. The two Khazak girls, feeling bad again for not knowing their names, made something like roti prata. Then the Koreans made some spicy noodles (which is so not spicy but sweet for Aik Hui and i) and some kinda fried rice ball with seaweeds on top. We provided drinks and chips. Uber awesome!! (:
They disperse pretty quickly to catch a movie somewhere around the dorm.
I decided to stay back and hang out with my Polish neighbours.

Now, I know all their names. It's Karolina, Sandra and Monica. I met their friends, an Italian, Marco, and Latvian guy, forgot name again, too. The 5 of us, Monica was more like a cheerleader for the Latvian guy, then played Royal Daidi. It was pretty fun. (: We played for hours since the Latvian guy kept insisted on playing more rounds. he! It was half past midnightby the time i showered and 2am by the time i went to bed.

Not much pictures today.

i owe pudding a picture. poor pudding. anw, snow outside my window.

dishes almost all served. moo moo glaring and salivating.

there we go!

A toast to Asia!

Day 5 - just fine

I did mention that cows can't drink vodka, and i was right cause moo moo that sneaky sneaky moo moo stole a sip and got a hang over this morning. Hence, she stayed in the dorm for the day. (right.. actually, i just forgot to take moo moo out today.)

My mentor is really a newbie at being a mentor cause he brought me to the bank to apply for my student card, but he forgot to print out some important documents. It was not a wasted trip though. Together with Laurynas, we bought more bus tickets and a card to top up our phone value. We parted ways with Laurynas and i went to a studio to have my passport size photos taken. It was horrible cause i was having a bad hair day today. Still am! ):

We had lunch at the cafeteria again and later joined the school tour. During lunch, i called alien Ann. I topped up my card just so i can call her again but she did not pick up her phone. ): I assumed that she was sleeeeeping again. I drank beetroot soup with Sour Cream for lunch! sour cream! again! yummy!! Although i am starting to feel sick about eating beetroot already. Was never a fan of it.

As for the tour, it was one around the school library. Plenty of walking again. argh! Not to mention the constant climbing of many steep flight of steps. Real hassle. Mega killer. Pictures can talk - with the help of my captions of course!

The tour started at 2 and ended at 3 plus. We quickly looked for Asta as office closes at 3:15pm on fridays. She gave us some uber awesome news. hee! hee! Uber Awesome!!

Tonight we cooked dinner. Well, I did most of the cooking and Aik Hui helped to chop veggies and wash dishes. Next time will be his turn to cook. Ate so much today. Having slept all day due to the hang over, moo moo had a hearty appetite and ate a lot too! (:

somehow i can't flip this picture. a part of the library where i accidentally dropped my camera on a glass display and cursed f! d:

uber awesome zoom zooming on this gorgeous structure on a faraway hill from the top of the tower.

that's going down the spiral stairs. composite pictures. i saw nuts and was so scared that i would trip and roll down the steps. i've got a darker picture.. this is second to that.
